I think about my training every day: the learning, the patients, the friends made. I find it hard to imagine that there is a more caring group of docs anywhere in medical education. The patient experience is second to none; from covering the basic healthcare needs of an urban population to quaternary referrals sent in from the Middle East. The teachers and mentors seem like they have nothing but time to teach and mentor.

The Internal Medicine program director is himself a graduate and extremely devoted to the program. The facilities are world class and the location in downtown Chicago is superb. I chose Northwestern because of their beautiful facilities, research opportunities, and their commitment to diversity through the Northwestern McGaw Underrepresented Residents and Fellows Forum.

My radiology training was excellent and has allowed me to succeed in a very competitive market. Chicago is a great city with plenty of entertainment to enjoy on your days off. My experience at Northwestern was phenomenal! The program provided me with outstanding clinical training and world-class mentorship to pursue my dream of a career in global cardiovascular epidemiology, prevention, and implementation science research.

Chicago has been a terrific home for my wife, Katie, and me and now our two children, Virginia and Daniel. Resident and Fellow engagement is highly valued at McGaw and opportunities for involvement across the medical center are abundant.
